On the 3rd Day of Christmas Mims Davies MP reflects on the top national campaigns received in 2024 from constituents.
Mims receives thousands of emails on a huge number of national campaigns alone from residents all over the patch.
Mims has gathered just a few of the top campaigns that residents of East Grinstead, Uckfield and the villages have raised since the election in 2024.
Assisted Dying:
"On Friday 29th November, 2024, I voted against the Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill at its second reading. It was a sitting Friday debate on a new bill - a process where MPs can bring forward their own legislation.
I hugely recognise that there are deeply held views on both sides of this difficult debate so I have written out my thoughts in full below around the bill and the outcome":

Family Farm Tax:
"I represent a rural constituency, and it is clear that local farmers will be hit by the changes to inheritance tax—we just need to read the messages from the NFU . I am afraid that the subterfuge and the hoodwinking of the farming community will be felt not just by Opposition Members, but across everybody’s communities.
Israel and Gaza:
"I remain committed to the pursuit of peace and stability in the Middle East. We ultimately want to be able to lift people’s eyes to a brighter future and sustainable, regional peace.
I welcome the deal which is currently on the table. The UK has long called for a deal such as this one and I share the view of our diplomats that it is the best way to get the remaining hostages out, bring about a sustainable ceasefire leading to a permanent end to hostilities, and enable a significant scaling up of much-needed humanitarian aid. It is vital that all parties seize this opportunity and move towards a lasting peace which guarantees security and stability for both the Israeli and Palestinian people as swiftly as possible. I hope and pray they do."

Hospice Funding Crisis:
"My email inbox has been flooded with requests for me to meet with local hospice leaders to hear about the funding crisis and learn how I can support and protect hospice services. Many of these emails have included personal messages detailing how our hospices have provided the most wonderful end of life care and support for loved ones and the deep gratitude you feel towards the staff and services they offer.
I have wholeheartedly supported our hospices throughout my time as MP for Mid Sussex and have continued to do so now I have been chosen to be the East Grinstead, Uckfield and villages MP; I was proud to stand on a manifesto in the recent election with the specific pledge to continue delivering high-quality palliative care services and supporting children’s and adults’ hospices. We have given hospices support at our business breakfasts to showcase their work and build links with the community and I was proud to be a volunteer supporting the inaugural Shine Bright for St Peter and St James with my daughter last year."
