Mims Davies was pleased to be in Barcombe this afternoon reaching residents all over and enjoying a cheeky ice cream on the way!
"Well good afternoon from a blazing Barcombe!
Summer is most certainly upon us - especially when you can hear lawn mowers going in the background.
This beautiful new constituency comes all the way down to Offham, takes in Cooksbridge, and of course, the blazing Barcombe where I am this afternoon.
Areas and environments like Barcombe need to be protected from overdevelopment which I know is a huge issue in our Southern villages.
The environment we live in is precious & we don't want its rural character lost.
As a mother of 2, I really do understand first time buyers are struggling and new housing must be built, but it has to be the right housing in the right place with the right infrastructure. My focus is on improved schools, health services, roads and better water quality, reliability & preventing future water outages.
I spent this morning in Haywards Heath around the Birch Hotel speaking to residents on this very matter too and will be back up to East Grinstead this evening delivering more leaflets, trying to reach as many residents as I can before polling day is upon us.
So for now, goodbye from blazing Barcombe, and time to finish this ice cream!"
