Mims Davies MP celebrates Nursing Support Workers’ Day 2024
Today is Nursing Support Workers' Day and Mims is thrilled to be celebrating, supporting, and spreading awareness.
The term ’nursing support worker’ encompasses hundreds of different job titles and roles, including health care support workers, assistant practitioners, nursing associates and health care assistants.
This year, the theme for Nursing Support Workers’ Day will be the importance of equity, diversity and inclusion and as the Shadow Minister for Women, this is close to Mims' heart.
We'll be shining a spotlight on the diversity of the nursing support workforce and the importance of inclusivity of nursing support workers within the nursing profession.
Mims Davies MP said:
I am thrilled that on today, Nursing Support Workers' Day 2024, we're shining a light on these fabulous workers in East Grinstead, Uckfield, the villages and across the whole of the UK.
In my constituency specifically I am honoured to have met a vast number of amazing staff including at Queen Victoria Hospital in East Grinstead who I visited in September and also November whilst meeting their new CEO. As well as Uckfield hospital which I most recently spoke about in the House of Commons at the end of October.
This year, as the Shadow Minister for Women, I am very happy the focus is on diversity and inclusivity, and I'd like to encourage everyone to get involved and find out more information here - rcn.org.uk/NursingSupportWorkersDay
The vital care they deliver day in, day out, 365 days a year is unmatched and crucial work.
