I am delighted UBAT who were running local schools are departing after supporting parents and teachers fight against poor management and outcomes.
Following the brilliant news of Brighton University Academies Trust to stop running several local schools, I met with our Regional Schools Commissioner as my team and I have been working on this for over 4 years on behalf of residents, students, and parents.
Parents can be assured this group will no longer be involved in the Burgess Hill Academy, Lindfield Primary and Blackthorns.
Although the boundary changes meant I don’t cover directly these schools anymore. Many of my constituents do have children, work, or know of the battle these schools have been in with this group who have let them down.
I will continue to support the next stages and am grateful for the DFE intervention and action and am pleased to be formally updated on my ongoing concerns and have a positive response to ongoing actions and I will be part of the next stages of insight.
There is still uncertainty and I am keen to support my constituents who remain affected with and will keep you updated.
Clearly the next steps are key too for all involved and I will be keeping a close eye on these.
