Mims Davies MP encourages residents to have flu jabs this Winter
Winter is coming!
That means it's time for residents to have their flu vaccine.
The flu can be a serious or life-threatening illness and the jab is offered on the NHS every year in autumn or early winter to people at higher risk of getting seriously ill. It aims to protect you against the most common types of flu viruses.
You can get the free NHS flu vaccine if you:
- are aged 65 or over (including those who will be 65 by 31 March 2025)
- have certain long-term health conditions
- are pregnant
- live in a care home
- are the main carer for an older or disabled person, or receive a carer's allowance
- live with someone who has a weakened immune system
Frontline health and social care workers can also get a flu vaccine through their employer.
If you're not eligible through the NHS, you can also have your flu jab done through the local pharmacist and book here:

Alternatively, you can book the vaccine at your local pharmacy using the above link.
