Reading is a fantastic way to relax and escape to another world, especially during difficult times.
The Summer Reading Challenge for children is now underway, with libraries having plenty of book for adults too. With activities from junk modelling to music, dance to drawing and painting, this year’s Challenge aims to fire up children’s imaginations and unleash storytelling and creativity through the power of reading.
If you don’t belong to the library it's free and easy to join the library by clicking the link and choosing your closest branch from the drop down list on the West Sussex County Council website.
Reading ideas for adults can include picking up a book from the Long Lazy Days of Summer display in the libraries. Or you can order a title from The Big Sporting Read collection. These have been selected by the Reading Agency and BBC Arts to inspire reading through the power of sport.
Alternatively, browse the just added titles found on the Love Reading page, or the wide range of eBooks available via Libby.

"Summer Reading Challenge!
Life is stressful, especially in current times, and sitting down to immerse ourselves in a good book can be a relaxing and calming way to escape from day to day struggles.
I'd like to encourage everyone to join this wonderful challenge and explore the vast range of books our local libraries have available."
