Mims Davies MP was thrilled to join HRH Duchess of Edinburgh at Ardingly Showground for the annual Jim Green Challenge.
The Jim Green Challenge is an annual competition designed for students with mild or moderate learning difficulties attending land-based colleges and further education centres in the South East.
Organised in memory of the Agricultural Society’s past chairman and founder of its educational outreach programmes, Jim Green, the challenge invites students to take part in both practical competitions and evidence-based project work, all focused around the countryside.
The challenge culminates in a practical competition day of countryside activities. At the end of the day, the judges announce the overall winners – who are presented with the prestigious Jim Green Challenge bowl by the Society’s president.
All students are also presented with a participation award for their achievements.
The day saw 120 students and adults with additional educational needs come together from across Kent, Sussex, and Surrey.
Generously sponsored by:
- Sussex Masonic Giving
- The Camelia Botnar Foundation
- Golden Lion Children's Trust
