Mims Davies MP Joins Open Doors World Watch List 2024 launch, hosted by Rt Hon. Dame Andrea Leadsom MP.
Mims can be seen in the picture with the fantastic CEO of Open Doors, Henrietta Blyth.
Open Doors originated in 1955, and for nearly 70 years has been speaking out on behalf of the 365 million (1 in 7) Christians globally who face oppression every day. A young Dutchman started smuggling Bibles to the persecuted church in Communist Europe. He became known as Brother Andrew, and his work led to more than six decades of support for the persecuted church.
The World Watch List ranks countries by the level of persecution that Christians face there, with North Korea topping the list again this year.
Every day, millions of Christians risk their lives to follow Jesus. In more than 70 countries, Open Doors supports them by supplying Bibles, providing emergency relief and helping persecuted believers stand strong for the long-term. In the UK and Ireland, Open Doors helps the church to pray, give and speak out for those who share our faith but not our freedom.
4,998 Christians were killed in 2023 simply for their faith. In the West, we often take our freedom of religion and belief for granted - and we must all work together to support those who face oppression for their faith in other parts of the world.

"I was pleased to have the opportunity to attend the important Open Doors World Watch List 2024 launch, hosted by Rt Hon. Dame Andrea Leadsom MP, in Parliament.
Joined by other colleagues from all over the country, we heard about some of the harrowing experiences of persecuted Christians and faith leaders and actions moving forward.
It was also lovely to be able to speak with fantastic CEO of Open Doors, Henrietta Blyth, on her work."
