Mims Davies MP was honoured to join Uckfield and Maresfield in Remembrance Sunday Services
Uckfield marked Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day with several commemorative events and fundraising activities this November.
Uckfield hosted a number of main Remembrance Service events between Sunday 10th November and Monday 11th November, including Eugene Seghers Memorial on Sunday 10 November 2024. Members of the Royal British Legion and local residents gathered by the memorial to pay their respects and lay a wreath in honour of the late Belgian Fighter Pilot Eugene Seghers.
Uckfield also hosted the Annual Parade and Remembrance Service on Sunday which included the Remembrance Service which took place at The Church of Holy Cross, Belmont Road, Uckfield at 15:00.
Mims joined residents, councillors and more in Maresfield at St. Bartholomews Church. Taking the opportunity to acknowledge those who laid down their lives, or put their lives on the line for our country’s freedom. Mims took a moment among residents to give thanks and remember those who came before us.
Mims Davies MP said:
It was a huge honour to join Remembrance Sunday services in Maresfield on Sunday morning and Uckfield in the afternoon on this day of reflection.
Councillors, mayors, residents, uniform youth groups and I came together and it was a privilege to lay wreaths in memory of those who fought so hard for us in poignant and very special services.
In the morning I joined the lovely Maresfield Community at St Benedicts Church, the birthplace of the Signals over 100 years ago and then had the honour of marching up Uckfield High Street in the afternoon with Uckfield Town Mayor and many others to the beautiful service at Holy Cross.
Thank you to everyone who organised and attended these events all across our villages and towns in EGU constituency and beyond.
#WeWillRememberThem
A very proud and important weekend of choral events, marches and services to join and support as we commit to never forget, the sacrifices made for our freedoms and those who continue to serve to keep us safe.
