Mims Davies MP was very pleased to raise awareness for Breast Cancer Awareness with Estée Lauder in Parliament.
This important event was also to mark Beautifully United, the 32nd Anniversary of The Estée Lauder Companies’ Breast Cancer Campaign and the Pink Ribbon.
Attitudinal research commissioned shows nearly eight in ten women in the UK aren’t regularly checking their breasts, with self-checking rates lowest amongst South Asian women, Black women and young women in the UK – which is also one of the groups where researchers see an increase in breast cancer cases.
Sue Fox mentioned they have co-created a Self-Check Leaflet on the signs and symptoms to look out for when checking your breasts with Breast Cancer Now and Dr Zoe Williams, which can be downloaded here.
Mims Davies MP said:
I was very pleased to join Estée Lauder in Parliament to raise awareness of Breast Cancer and the symptoms.
I'd like to encourage as many residents, family and friends as possible to regularly self-check, which can make a big difference.
Symptoms to look out for include:
- a new lump or thickening in your breast or armpit
- a change in size, shape or feel of your breast
- skin changes in the breast such as puckering, dimpling, a rash or redness of the skin
- fluid leaking from the nipple in a woman who isn’t pregnant or breastfeeding
- changes in the position of the nipple
