Mims Davies MP is proud to be supporting Restart A Heart 2023.
This year's campaign focuses on defibrillator awareness – as recent data shows 61% of people aren’t confident enough to use one. Public access defibrillators (PADs) are designed to be easily used by public, once switched on, they tell exactly what to do.
A cardiac arrest is the ultimate medical emergency – where the heart suddenly stops beating. Out-of-hospital cardiac arrests affect 80,000 people per year in the UK, with less than 1 in 10 people surviving. We can and must change it.
Every year on October 16, Resuscitation Council UK and an alliance of partners around the world come together to raise public awareness and increase the number of people trained in CPR and defibrillation confidence. Together we can achieve our common vision of having a nation which is trained to save lives. Now is the time to get involved and support Restart A Heart 2023 and be the champion in your constituency.
Resuscitation Council UK is the kitemark organisation for resuscitation in the UK. We are saving lives by developing guidelines, influencing policy, delivering courses and supporting cutting-edge research. Through education, training and research, we’re working towards the day when everyone in the country has the skills they need to save a life.
