Mims Davies MP was thrilled to attend the brilliant charity, Guide Dogs, for their Christmas Reception in Parliament on 13th December.
The event marks some of the achievements this year in improving accessibility – from a requirement for audio-visual announcements on buses, to more funding for tactile warning paving on railway platforms – and looks to what can be done in the year ahead.
Guide Dogs always organise crucial events in Parliament for Members to attend and learn more about how they can support those who need it most.
Mims is always proud to support Guide Dogs as a dog owner, especially last year with their Open Doors campaign to raise awareness of the rights assistance dog owners have and the need for better enforcement and clearer law.
Mims Davies MP said:
"I am always honoured to be able to attend Guide Dogs' fabulous Parliamentary Receptions.
As Minister for Disabled People, Health and Work, I felt it was crucial I attend this event.
I was pleased to be able to speak to guide dog owners about the positive impact recent successes will have on them and how we can further support people with sight loss in 2024.
A huge thank you to the hard working team at Guide Dogs who took the time to organise and host this important reception."
