As the Summer Parliamentary Recess begins, it's great to be able to spend more time in the constituency meeting local businesses.
My first visit was to Martin Haslam of Keymer Haslam in Burgess Hill.
It was a pleasure to chat, over a coffee, about how his business is doing, followed by a discussion on various local matters at the wonderful UpMarket 22, just down the road from his office.
It was also a delight to chat to Martin Stoner of Herbert J Stoner Jewellers, whist a battery on my watch was changed and a new watch strap purchased.
Hearing their thoughts and getting insights as local independent traders in the town is invaluable to me as an MP.
