Mims Davies MP provides her thoughts on the week in East Grinstead and work taking place in Westminster and locally:
"Yesterday I was in our very hot East Grinstead office - Summer Recess is officially here and I am thrilled to be back locally.
One of the key things that came out before the close of the Summer, is the new NPPF - the new National Policy Framework for Planning and I've already been meeting with local councils this week on this including Wealden and East Sussex County Council.
I'll be meeting senior members in Sussex Police and our PCC, Katy Bourne, on what's going on in Copthorne and the really concerning incidents taking place in East Grinstead and Ashurst Wood in particular, as well as ASB and shoplifting.
Thank you to everyone who submitted their views to the MSDC Parking Charges Consultation - I also sent a submission in which you can see on my website.
We also had World Hepatitis Day on Sunday which is really important to raise awareness of. Hepatitis is now the world's deadliest virus following Covid19 so please, please do order yourself a free test online, even if just to point yours and your families' minds at ease.
I look forward to spending lots of time at the brilliant local events happening here in East Grinstead, Uckfield and our amazing villages, as well as surgery appointments with constituents, going Facebook Live again, and organising in person 'Meet Mims' events and supermarket surgeries for residents to come and speak to me and ask me questions ensuring I am fully accessible to you as your Member of Parliament.
I will keep you updated!"
