An increasing number of deeply frustrated constituents have contacted me and my casework team regarding ongoing access issues to the Doctors Surgeries in East Grinstead, Burgess Hill and Crawley Down which come under the Modality group.
I take all concerns raised by my constituents very seriously, particularly those regarding health and wellbeing.
I have previously written to the Chief Executive of the Integrated Care Board to raise constituents’ personal experiences and there was a Sussex MPs meeting on Friday on this and local dentists issues too to drive home the seriousness of this ongoing problematic situation.
I will be continuing to stress the importance of tackling the unacceptable issues that have been raised with me and ask that this is urgently investigated, so that changes can be made and access to appointments and care is restored.
I will keep you updated.
Update: 31st March 2023
I have today received a copy of the letter below which is addressed to the Mid Sussex Patient Community and is also available on the Modality website: https://www.modalitypartnership.nhs.uk/modalitymidsussex .
I understand that the CEO of Modality, Vincent Sai, and Modality Mid Sussex representatives are meeting with the Patient Participation Group and other local key stakeholders early next week to discuss the concerns raised and to plan the next steps.
As before I will continue to monitor this situation closely on behalf of constituents and am seeking an urgent meeting with the ICB regarding this escalating situation.
