I joined residents in Nutley alongside County Councillor Roy Galley for a Q&A event covering topics from planning issues, roads issues, the lack of mobile connectivity, as well as the treasure that is nearby Ashdown Forest during the event at the village hall. These events are vital, having boots on the ground and speak with residents face-to-face on what their concerns and priorities are for our lovely area. A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and asked questions.
So I’m looking forward to my next ‘MeetMims’ Q & A event in Newick on Friday 7th February at 7pm -register for tickets on my website. I know there are a number of concerns in the Southern patch of our constituency, and I look forward to finding out more details from residents, their main concerns, and how I as your MP can help and support you.
I’d a productive meeting this week listening to the local campaign group – ‘No To Wivelstown’ – regarding planning issues in Wivelsfield. Objections for the planning development are building substantially to over 200. If you have concerns on the planning and would like to object the houses being built in our area, please don’t hesitate to object and share your concerns.
If you’re fundraising for charity and would like help promoting your donation page and charity, please do let me know as I’d love to help you raise as much money as possible. Cllr Sarah Webster is raising money for the brilliant Dame Vera Lynn Children’s Charity in Chailey, as well as local East Grinstead resident, Sophie Pocock, who is fundraising for Battersea Dogs & Cats Home. Links to donate can be found on my website.
In Westminster, I met the Fair Education Alliance, to discuss the brilliant work they’re doing and how we can work together to support youth people with community and education needs. Hearing from Gina the CEO and Janeen from the team As well as Darren Caplan, CEO of the Railway Industry Association to talk about the need for better local infrastructure, staffing and rail plans for our constituency in the future.
