It is an honour to extend the felicitations of the people of Mid Sussex to His Majesty and the Royal Family on the cherished occasion of his coronation.
As The Prince of Wales, he dutifully served the United Kingdom and Commonwealth with distinction.
His commitment to service, dedication to duty and his great love for this country has served as an example and inspiration to all of us. As King, he will continue to be a rock for our nation, a point of stability around which the changing tides of history will swirl.
In 1947, Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, vowed to dedicate her whole life to the service of her people here and across the Commonwealth. We are certain he will build on this enduring legacy as the Nation now enters a new Carolean age.
In the days ahead, millions of people across the country and watching from around the globe will come together to celebrate your coronation and the mixture of tradition, modernity, culture and community that makes our country great. It is my sincere hope the spirit of unity and togetherness fostered by the festivities continue long beyond the Coronation itself.
His Majesty has worked closely with many wonderful organisations, publicly supporting a wide variety of causes relating to the environment, rural communities, the arts, healthcare and education. We very much look forward to his inspirational leadership on these important and ongoing issues throughout the rest of his long and prosperous reign.
As the heavy weight of history falls upon his shoulders, the people of Mid Sussex and I pray His Majesty will find the continued strength, courage and fortitude needed to reign joyously as King for us all.
God save The King.
