Mims Davies MP provides a quick catchup from the week.
Including:
Brew Monday - making Blue Monday a thing of the past and introducing Brew Monday! Thank you to the Samaritans for running this important campaign.
It is crucial to take the time to meet with a friend, colleague or loved one for a cup of tea and a catch up.
Animal Welfare - Mims was pleased to join the important Animal Welfare debate in the Chamber on Monday.
Like countless constituents, protecting animals and enhancing animal welfare means a great deal to Mims and she very much appreciates the strength of feeling around this issue.
Mims was also fortunate to be able to help deliver the world leading Ivory Act during my time as the Government Whip at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs which enforced a near total ban on the import, export and dealing of items containing elephant ivory.
Plan for Driver’s Consultation - Mims has also shared on her website the Plan for Driver’s Consultation where you can take part and feed into this vital consultation.
The first key measures from the government’s plan were delivered on Monday. The aim is to crack down on disruptive road works and new measures introduced could generate up to £100 million extra over 10 years to resurface roads across England.
Disability Charities Consortium
On Tuesday, Mims and the Secretary of State for DWP, Mel Stride, met with the Disability Charities Consortium.
It was really important to listen to the work they do and their insights and priorities on how the Government can all work together with the fantastic disability organisations and make a big difference to disabled people’s daily lives. Supporting their needs and aspirations.
