Listen to Mims on Westminster Hour here
Mims Davies MP said:
"On Sunday I was thrilled to join the Westminster Hour with Ben Wright and guests.
We discussed a number of topics including economic matters, the future leadership for my party, and the spread of misinformation and the damage this can cause.
Ultimately, being an effective opposition and getting on with the job is my top priority.
Most importantly, we discussed the urgent need for calm and for all communities to come together and the vital need to embrace calm by rejecting division.
You cannot rationalise this behaviour.
I utterly condemn the violence in our towns and our cities. Rightly, police will absolutely be looking into what sort of groups and who are involved to make sure they face the full weight of the law. My heart truly goes out to the victims.
We all must come together - all parties, all politicians, political leaders and councillors - you see many people from the communities coming forward asking for calm, and I do implore that people listen and take heed.
This is despicable violence, criminal behaviour, and there's no place for that in society.
I'd like to take the opportunity to thank our very, very brave police and front line services, who are, again, running into harms way."
