Mims Davies MP signs letter to Chancellor calling not to end VAT relief on Listed Places of Worship in March
The letter explains how the current scheme to waive VAT on repairs to listed places of worship is currently due to end in March next year.
The Listed Places of Worship (LPW) Grant Scheme is a vital measure which has enabled thousands of churches and other places of worship to be preserved for future generations.
Mims and her colleagues hope the Chancellor will provide certainty for all voluntary groups trying to preserve some of the most beautiful heritage and extend this scheme for a multi-year period.
Mims Davies MP said:
Along with 35 of my Conservative MPs, I was pleased to sign the letter to the Chancellor calling on her not to end VAT relief on Listed Places of Worship in March.
I know from visits in East Grinstead, Uckfield and our villages how important it is preserving our historic churches here and beyond our constituency.
We must protect our heritage.
I hope the Chancellor will agree.
