South East Water have said:
We know that interruptions to the drinking water supply in East Grinstead have been frustrating in recent years – and we share this frustration.
At times, our service has not met the standard expected of us and we are working hard to improve our operations and investing to put things right.
Following the water supply issues experienced during Storm Eunice in February 2022, when power issues cut water supplies in the East Grinstead area, we created a community chest fund, distributing £100,000 to charities and local businesses in the town and surrounding areas.
This included East Grinstead Foodbank, Age UK East Grinstead and the East Grinstead Community First Responders.
We were delighted to be able to give back to 21 community charities and organisations, nominated by Mims Davies MP with the help of local stakeholders, and voted for by local residents.
