Mims Davies MP backs Help for Heroes campaign supporting veterans tackle loneliness and isolation
Help for Heroes have recently launched a new campaign to highlight the struggles veterans have with isolation and loneliness, especially at this time of year.
Mims would like to encourage residents to leave a message of hope on their message wall, to show veterans they haven't been forgotten.
Help for Heroes will be reproducing these messages on Christmas cards which will be sent to more than 9,500 veterans and for some, it will be the only Christmas card they receive this year.
The Conservatives launch a campaign early in the year under the Sunak Conservative Government will the mission to make the UK the best place in the world to be a veteran.
Mims, along with her fellow parliamentarians, and throughout all levels of government recognise the tremendous duty we owe to veterans and equally the tremendous potential veterans still have to contribute to our society.
The consultation looked into all aspects:
- social housing
- privately rented housing
- home ownership
- homelessness
- supported housing
- employment
- physical health
- mental health
- NHS awareness
- transition
- finance and welfare
- pensions and compensation
And much more which can be found here - Supporting Our Veterans: A Consultation (HTML) - GOV.UK
Mims Davies MP said:
I fully back Help for Heroes important campaign highlighting the struggles veterans have with isolation and loneliness.
Last year, residents of East Grinstead, Uckfield, the villages and beyond sent thousands of messages to veterans struggling with isolation, often caused by disability, pain and mental trauma.
These words became beacons of hope for veterans and their families during a season that can feel especially lonely.
Please do take a moment to send a message of support today
