Mims Davies, MP for Mid Sussex recently met with the Rev Jules Middleton shortly after her induction to St Edward the Confessor Church in Burgess Hill. Rev Middleton shared her thoughts and future plans with Mims as she toured the Church and met the Church Wardens. One of the plans included the reopening of the Mustard Seed Café as a community place meet up and enjoy good food. The Mustard Seed Café reopened on the 16th June.
Mims Davies MP for Mid Sussex commented:
“I was delighted to return to the Mustard Seed Café last Friday. It was fantastic to see how much work had been achieved from my first visit to open the café. With a fabulous, happy band of volunteers cooking and serving the food, my colleagues and I ate very well and thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. With inside and outside seating, good value, well cooked food and a friendly atmosphere I wish every success to this wonderful café.”
Designed by J Wells-Thorpe. St Edwards is the smallest of three churches in the town, starting as a daughter church of St John’s and became a separate parish in 2000. St Edward's is a small and friendly church in the West of Burgess Hill. At present they have two services a week: an informal communion on Tuesday mornings at 10.30am followed by refreshments, and a more formal parish mass on Sundays at 10am also followed by tea & coffee. They aim to be inclusive of all and everyone is assured of a warm welcome! The cafe is open Thursday and Friday lunchtimes.
