Mims Davies MP Honoured to sign Holocaust Educational Trust Book of Commitment.
In the run-up to Holocaust Memorial Day, the Book of Commitment is signed by hundreds of MPs every year as a pledge to fight prejudice and hatred.
Holocaust Memorial Day has taken place in the UK since 2001, with a UK Commemorative Ceremony and more than 10,000 local activities taking place all across the UK on or around 27 January each year. The theme for this year’s commemorations is ‘Fragility of Freedom’.
Holocaust Memorial Day is an opportunity to remember and pay tribute to all of those persecuted by the Nazis, including Roma and Sinti people, disabled people, gay men, political opponents to the Nazis and others.
Mims Davies MP said:
"I was honoured to sign the Holocaust Educational Trust Book of Commitment in the House of Commons.
Holocaust Memorial Day is an important opportunity for people to reflect on the darkest times of European history, with this years theme being Fragility of Freedom.
We must speak out against all forms of antisemitism, which in recent months has risen exponentially and which needs to be tackled head on.”
