Mims Davies MP shares horror of Sainsburys having to lay off 3000 staff due to Labour's Budget
One of the largest retailers in the UK, Sainsburys, is having to cut 3,000 hard working people's jobs due to major closure plans thanks to Labour's disastrous budget.
Businesses of all sizes are struggling thanks to additional National Insurance Contributions, Business Rates, Extended Producer Responsibility and the Deposit Return Schemes - to name a few.
Mims was thrilled to organise another of her pop up Supermarket Surgeries in Sainsburys last year to ensure she is as accessible as possible - and with her new contact forms for residents to take away incase they need to contact their local MP on any issues or concerns.

This is dreadful news that one of our largest retailers, with branches in our area of East Grinstead, Uckfield, and the villages, is having to cut 3000 hard working people’s jobs thanks to Labour’s disastrous budget.
This follows local stores and businesses telling me the same. It’s devastating to our communities and economy.
At various events in Westminster this week businesses and sector leads were all saying the same thing - this can’t possibly go on. Our public services need the funding from thriving businesses and taxpayers there is no such thing as Government money.
Even more families will now be suffering without their steady pay check. This comes on top of poor recent job figures.

Mims continued:
We strove in Government to protect and support small businesses and all sectors particularly in the pandemic to be able to come back stronger. We admitted what we got wrong and were always prepared to change tact. These are a Labour Government impact of their own making by their own choices.
Coupled with car parking hike here it’s further acts of economic vandalism against the high street & local economy from the Lib Dem, Green, Labour & Independent ruling group on Mid Sussex District Council.
Our new reinvigorated party under Kemi, will keep working to stop all we can and highlight this madness.
